Rotational Viscometer
Measight DV79A measures dynamic viscosity with a Type A container and a 70 mL sample configuration. The listed range is 1–50 mPa·s across matching spindle/speed combinations, with selectable speeds of 7.5, 75 and 750 rpm. The catalog also lists temperature measurement and RS232 output. Choose the matching cup and spindle; the overall range is not available from every combination.

Use the spindle specified for the selected container. The catalog identifies readings below 10% or above 100% torque as invalid. Record temperature and speed alongside the viscosity result.
Type A measurement configurations
At 750 rpm: spindle A covers 1–10 mPa·s (3,550 s⁻¹); B covers 2–20 mPa·s (1,855 s⁻¹); C covers 4–40 mPa·s (1,006 s⁻¹); D covers 5–50 mPa·s (836 s⁻¹). These shear rates apply to the listed spindle/container geometries and the 70 mL sample configuration.
Choosing the DV79A configuration
Consider DV79A when the sample and method fit the Type A low-viscosity configuration. For example, the catalog lists 1–10 mPa·s for spindle A at 750 rpm with the matching 70 mL Type A setup. A different spindle or speed needs its own working-range check.

Can DV79A temperature measurement replace a temperature-control setup?
The RTD probe measures sample temperature. It does not by itself establish heating or cooling capability. Specify the required test temperature and confirm how the selected cup will be conditioned and held at that temperature.
