Rotational Viscometer
Measight DV79B measures dynamic viscosity with a Type B container and a 15 mL sample configuration. The listed range is 10–1,000,000 mPa·s across matching spindle/speed combinations, with selectable speeds of 7.5, 75 and 750 rpm. The catalog also lists temperature measurement and RS232 output. Choose the matching cup and spindle; the overall range is not available from every combination.

Use the spindle specified for the selected container. The catalog identifies readings below 10% or above 100% torque as invalid. Record temperature and speed alongside the viscosity result.
Type B measurement configurations
With a 15 mL sample: at 750 rpm, spindle E covers 10–100 mPa·s (2,028 s⁻¹), F covers 100–1,000 mPa·s (344 s⁻¹), and G covers 1,000–10,000 mPa·s (176 s⁻¹). At 75 rpm, F covers 10,000–100,000 mPa·s (18 s⁻¹); at 7.5 rpm, G covers 100,000–1,000,000 mPa·s (2 s⁻¹). An optional Type A container is required for the published range below 10 mPa·s.
Choosing the DV79B configuration
Consider DV79B when the method fits the 15 mL Type B configuration. Its standard listed range starts at 10 mPa·s. Work below that value requires the separate Type A container and matching spindles, so specify the complete low-viscosity arrangement rather than treating it as a Type B capability.

Can DV79B temperature measurement replace a temperature-control setup?
The RTD probe measures sample temperature. It does not by itself establish heating or cooling capability. Specify the required test temperature and confirm how the selected cup will be conditioned and held at that temperature.
